THE Buckie Christmas Kracker organisers have thanked crowds for returning in their thousands to make the event’s full return a success at the weekend.
The event, normally a staple on the Buckie calendar, was held on a smaller scale last year due to the ongoing impact of the Coronavirus pandemic .
However, Saturday marked the Kracker’s return in all its glory to Cluny Square with families from across Moray enjoying the festivities.
The signature fancy dress parade, fireworks display and a host of stalls made their return to the event before Santa rounded off the day by switching on the town’s Christmas lights.
Adam Murray, who chairs the Christmas Kracker and Christmas Lights committees, said: “It was very successful and we had a bigger crowd than we expected.
“We think it was into the thousands. I think that’s because we’re back to the size we were pre-Covid. Last year was smaller but this year we went back to full size.
“We had the parade, the fireworks, children’s characters and things like that.
“We’re just thankful to the crowds for coming out and helping to make it a good day for everyone.”
