Bridge repairs will close A97 road to Banff

A road closure has been announced by Aberdeenshire Council for the A97 from Banff to Aberchirder at Bachlaw Bridge.

It will be shut from the junction with the U19l Colleonard Road to the junction with C22L.

The closure will be in place for five days starting from Monday, February 19 from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

An Aberdeenshire Council spokesman said: "It is to allow bridge repairs to take place. Access will be provided for emergency vehicles and those requiring access to properties.

"They may be subject to delay until the road is cleared of construction plant to allow safe passage through the works.

The diversion is via A97 to Banff to A98 to Portsoy to A95 to B9025 towards Aberchirder to A97 at Blacklaw and vice versa.
