Plans by Ellon headquarted BrewDog to plant over a million trees as part of their 'Lost Forest' project will now move ahead after receiving planning permission.

Posting on social media today, CEO James Watt said: "Delighted that we now have all the relevant planning consents to start planting our amazing @BrewDog Lost Forest!

"We will plant millions of trees over 9500 acres to create a native, bio-diverse broadleaf woodland and pull carbon from our atmosphere to help save our planet.

He added; "We've been unfairly criticised for not planting earlier but of course we were not able to start until we had received the relevant consents.

"We would love to invite anyone who criticised the project to join us on the first day of planting which will be in August."

His posts also provided a reference from Professor Mike Berners-Lee which provided an analysis in support of the plans for the site which is located near Aviemore - https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/brewdog-lost-forest-james-watt/
