Brewdog first to join climate change program
Brewdog has become the first company to sign up to a scheme that is fighting to tackle climate change.
Eco tech firm, Pawprint, has launched a search for the most climate conscious businesses to join its Pawprint Pioneers Program.
It is looking to attract companies who want to become more sustainable.
The Ellon-based multinational brewery and bar chain is the first firm to join the program.
Brewdog is also the first international beer business to become carbon negative and its goal is to be the most sustainable drinks brand on the planet.
Captain at Brewdog James Watt said: “Brewdog is now carbon negative and will be the most sustainable drinks brand on the planet.
"As part of this commitment, I’m delighted Brewdog is the first Pawprint Pioneer. Pawprint will empower Brewdog’s people to fight climate change at work, at home and beyond.
"It’ll allow us all to measure, understand and reduce our carbon footprints and is based on scientifically-robust data from our shared scientific advisor, Mike Berners-Lee.
"Join me and the Brewdog team by becoming Pawprint Pioneers and let’s fight climate change together.”
The program is part of Pawprint For Business which helps organisations inspire their employees to fight climate change and amplify their positive impact.
It works by providing an online tool for employees to measure, understand and reduce their carbon footprints at work and at home, while future proofing the organisation for a lower carbon future.
Aberdonian Christian Arno, founder and CEO at Pawprint said: “Having personally conducted interviews with many businesses, I know there’s a huge appetite from businesses for Pawprint.
"Climate change affects us all, so it’s no surprise that people at all levels of all industries want their organisation to lead – and to lead through action, as Brewdog has done – on the topic.
"Pawprint will help businesses to accelerate and amplify their positive impact as we join together to tackle humanity’s greatest challenge yet.
"We’ll empower people to fight climate change and use their influence in every area of their lives.”
