BREAKING: Banff Harbour area closed off after body of man found

Police have confirmed that there are no apparent suspicious circumstances after the body of a man was recovered from the beach at Banff Harbour.

Officers cordoned off the area where the 35-year-old was discovered on the morning of Wednesday, February 14, and other emergency services also attended.

It was reopened later on in the day once investigations had been completed and police said a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.40am on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, the body of a 35-year-old man was recovered from the beach at Banff Harbour.

"There are no apparent suspicious circumstances, and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
