Body of missing man Alan McKenzie found in Banff

The body of a man has been found this afternoon in Banff, Police Scotland have confirmed.

A police spokesman said: "We can confirm that around 12.30pm today the body of a man was found near the Links coastal area in Banff.

"Formal identification has yet to take place however the next-of-kin of 49-year-old Alan McKenzie, reported missing from the area, have been informed."

In an unrelated matter, the police are continuing to search for a second local man who is missing.

Officers are concerned for the well-being of William Hay who has not been seen since 3am on Sunday.
