Ellon Fire And Rescue Service welcomed the return of their annual open day event this weekend.

The popular event brings families together to learn more about local emergency services, as well as other groups, while raising money for charity.

The afternoon of fun started with a parade of vehicles through the town centre led by Ellon RBL Pipe Band.

It ended at the community fire station where revellers could enjoy a variety of stalls and attractions.

These included face painting, inflatables, football darts, a bucking bronco, a Nerf zone and the opportunity to have your picture taken with one of the Oor Wullie's from the 2019 Big Bucket Trail.

There were also a selection of tasty treats on offer.

Police and Coastguard joined the event to highlight the work each organisation does to keep communities safe and help the people who live there.

Despite being cancelled in recent years due to the coronavirus pandemic the event proved to be as popular as ever, especially with young families.
