Across the north and north-east Clan Cancer Support are set to bring a total of 40 colourful hare sculptures to locations to form The Big Hop Trail which will be launched on July 2.

The six foot high sculptures will be on display until the end of September and will be joined at several other locations by smaller versions which have been decorated by local schools for the Wee Hop.

Coinciding with the charity’s 40th anniversary, each hare represents a year of Clan’s commitment to supporting people affected by cancer.

Clan will also launch a dedicated app featuring fun facts and rewards to unlock on Saturday for those wishing to visit as many of the sites as possible.

In September all 40 of the hare sculptures which have been created by local artists will go up for sale at auction with all funds to benefit the charity

The Big Hop Trail is the second event Clan has partnered with Wild in Art following its successful lighthouse trail in 2021 which raised £324,000.
