THIS year's best Christmas window has been awarded by Huntly Community Council to the Ethical Gift Shop and Refillery.
The business, on Duke Street, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year and sells a range of locally hand crafted and fairly traded gifts from around the world, as well as offering a refillery of goods including cleaning products, toiletries and cupboard staples.
Ellie Turner, who runs the business with husband Martyn, said: "We decided to do something different this year and to not put in a traditional Christmas window display. Instead, we just filled the windows with festive things that are for sale. The windows change several times daily; when something gets sold, something else replaces it. So the windows are constantly changing.
"Thanks so much to everyone who voted for us. It truly was a surprise!"
The members of the community council each judge all the window displays entered in the competition and the window with the most nominations is the winner.
Tony Gill, chair of Huntly Community Council – who are behind the whole contest – said: "We've been very impressed with the window displays this year with a lot of effort having been put in by the shops and businesses, all helping to bring a bit of Christmas Cheer to everyone visiting and shopping in the town."
