The Mither Tap took on a cosy new look on Sunday thanks to the fundraising efforts of local community nurse Lorraine Grant from Inverurie.
She explained: "I always do challenges for charity which involves Bennachie.
"This year with help from some friends we knitted a 530 metre scarf to go round the top of Bennachie.
"There was also a big pom pom on top.
"I have had a lot of friends helping me knit the scarf and I am very grateful to the dedicated knitters who are helped me complete this challenge as without them the takes would have taken a lot longer.
"All the proceeds will go to Lewy Body Society which is a form of progressive dementia which leads to decline in thinking, reasonings and independent functions. "
Taking to the Bennachie hillside on Sunday, Lorraine along with a band of helpers made their way up to the Mither Tap to complete the challenge, including a stop at a bench which they carried up last year and which now sits about a mile up the route, providing a welcome rest for walkers.
Lorraine added: "It was not the best of days as it was windy and foggy but we wrapped the scarf around Mither Tap all in aid of Lewybody society

The Lewy Body Society was founded in 2006 to support research into Lewy body dementia and to raise awareness of the disease and aims to educate the public, the medical professions and those in decision-making positions about the disease, which unfortunately is still not well known.
