Banff Rotary Club carried out a litter pick in the town as part of its work to assist the community.

The members focused on the area around Canal Park and Princess Royal Park.

A club spokesman said: "We filled several black bags of rubbish and were happy to leave the area tidier for people to enjoy.

"By taking part in litter picking we are delighted to contribute to improving the environment of our own area.

"Once the restrictions of lockdown were lifted, Banff Rotary Club decided it would introduce a more flexible weekly programme.

"While on occasion members still meet for meals and to listen to speakers in local hotels and restaurants, on other weeks the meeting is held on Zoom.

"The Rotary programme also includes evenings when the club meets for coffee and chat, as well as to plan activities and community events.

"Regularly, instead of meetings, Rotarians roll up their sleeves and take part in community activities. These have included weeding the St Mary's Car Park and litter picking on the beach.

"Rotary is an international organisation whose members seek to make a difference to communities across the world."
