Once again the weather prevailed at Lairds as the heavens opened on Saturday and the first team game against 2nd Knightriders, despite vain attempts to provide a surface to play on, bit the non-existing dust.
However cricket was very much the order of the day on Sunday writes Mark Woodhouse as Methlick welcomed teams from Inverurie, Stoneywood Dyce, Ellon and Banchory for our first ever Junior Festival with over 150 people in attendance.
Banchory were undefeated in their three matches, edging out Methlick 1 in the closely fought encounter, winning by only 7 runs, with Banchory scoring 208 for 5 and Methlick 201 for 5.
