A TURRIFF-based business has once again been recognised at a national level after scooping the restaurant choice supplier of the year at The Food Awards Scotland.

More than 300 guests attended the Marriott Hotel in Glasgow for the awards ceremony which recognises the success of local professionals and establishments that continue to deliver quality products.

For the north-east there were a host of nominations, but it was three local businesses that came out tops, none more so than TPS Fruit and Veg. They were joined by Inverurie's Fennel Restaurant, who picked up the restaurant of the year north, while the Pineapple Grill and Seafood at Meldrum House Country Hotel clinched the hotel restaurant of the year north.

TPS company director Sharon Hosie said: "We are delighted to receive this accolade.

"It is a fantastic achievement and it is recognition for the commitment, dedication and hard work by all the team at TPS.

"Thanks to all our valued customers for voting and their continuous support over the years and to my brother Lewis, who works very hard at sourcing quality produce.

"We have not forgotten our roots and still represent the same passion for quality, service and values."
