'Auld Gits' offer a helping hand to Home Start Garioch

The Auld golfers of Inverurie Traveling Society (Auld Gits) are delighted to present a cheque for £1000 to Home-Start Garioch to assist in their excellent work within the local community.

Mhairi Philip, Manager said “I’m blown away by their fundraising efforts and fair chuffed that the auld gits have chosen us as one of their worthy causes.

"The money will go towards the costs associated with training and supporting new volunteers.

The Inverurie Travelling Society of golfers known as the Auld GITs have been in existence since 2012 and are made up of a group of like minded individuals who enjoy the wonderful game of golf and who have a collective desire for an annual trip to a sunnier climate to play golf and relax.

Their passion for golf and sunshine is also reflected in their efforts raise money for local charities over the years which has included donations to Gordon Dementia, Inverurie food bank and Poppy Scotland.
