George Barclay received a Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland 40 years service certificate from Charles Buchan at the estate hall on Friday afternoon.

Having worked as a young boy from the age of about 10 with his father who was the estate forester, George was taken on the books after leaving school at 16 and is himself now the head estate forester.

The was presentation was actually due two years ago but was put on hold due to Covid, so he now has 42 years on the records and nearly 48 years as man and boy in forestry in the north-east.
