A 39-year-old man has been arrested after an ambulance attending a call out in Kemnay was stolen at around 6.20am this morning.

After a pursuit of around 40 miles which saw the vehicle head north through Aberdeenshire and into Moray it was finally stopped in Dufftown after a stinger unit was deployed to bring the vehicle to a halt.

The Ambulance Service described it as a 'deplorable act'.
