People gathered at Turriff's war memorials on Friday for a short cross laying ceremony to mark Armistice.

Organised by Turriff Legion, there was a short service conducted by St Congan's Church followed by piping from Billy Hepburn.

At 11am silence fell as those present reflected on the significance of the day.

Following a reading of For The Fallen those who wished to laid a cross in the garden of remembrance adjacent to the war memorials.

Some crosses were dedicated to individuals and some to all who have been lost.

This was followed by a short wreath laying ceremony by Turriff Academy pupils.
