PICTURES, posters and newspaper cuttings are among just some of the items organisers of the Keith Show are looking to source ahead of the event’s 150th anniversary this summer.

The event, a staple of the north east for well over a century now, will mark the significant milestone with a special memorabilia tent.

But in order to fill the tent, organisers are calling for the public’s help.

Carly Mackay, Keith Show Secretary, said: “The message is “Keith Show needs you”.

“We’re looking for old memorabilia. Things like old photos, posters, newspaper cuttings or even things like rosettes.

“It’s so we can fill a memorabilia tent that people can come along and have a look at to see how the show has developed over the years.

“We’ll also use some of the memorabilia to put on boards around the show.

“That will be for things like “this happened here on this date” and things like that.”

The event has evolved over the years into a firm favourite among families in Moray and further afield.

And organisers promise this year’s special anniversary event will be packed full of things to see and do.

“It’s 150 years so this is an absolutely massive year for us,” Carly said.

“It’s actually just my second show as secretary but it’s obviously a really special one.

“For a lot of the stalwarts of the show and the committee it will be great to have a look back in this way.

“But we’re trying to put as much as we can into this year’s show.

“We’ve got a lot to look forward to and there will something for everybody.

“Really it’s just about making it a big celebration and encouraging as many people to come along.”

This year’s show will be held on August 10 and August 11.

Carly added: “Please send any information to the Keith Show Office for the attention of Alyson Hunter, Keith Show, Seafield Park, Keith, AB55 5AJ or email it to info@keithshow.org.uk.

“We can photocopy and return any documents if need be so please ensure to include your name and address if sending anything to us.

“We look forward to welcoming you all to the 150th Keith Show.”
