Appeal after deliberate fire in Mintlaw

Officers are appealing for information after a fire was deliberately started in woodland near to Saplinbrae, Mintlaw, around 9pm on Thursday, June 10.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fire and no one was injured.

Constable Emma Ritchie of Peterhead Police Station said: “This was an extensive fire which thankfully did not spread to local properties but did cause extensive damage to logs stored in the area.

“If anyone was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious then please get in touch. Call us on 101, quoting incident 3737 of 10 June, or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
