Springfield Properties is hoping to build another 100 houses in Buckie next to a site where they are already building 110 homes.
The company has submitted to Moray Council what's called a PAN (proposal of application notice).
This gives the council a head's up that a formal application for planning permission will be submitted for the site which lies to the south of the town next to Barhill Road.
Springfield is currently in the process of building 110 homes directly to the north of the proposed new site. These are indicated on the image below:
The PAN will be discussed at the next meeting of Moray Council's planning committee on Tuesday.
A report written by Ian Drummond, a planning officer for the council, says: "Access is proposed via links through the existing development to the north leading through to an enhanced junction onto Barhill Road.
"Parts of the site are identified as being at risk of surface water flooding, however, there are no other landscape, cultural or natural heritage designations affecting the site.
"Surface water arrangements will be contained within the site.
"The Committee, and any other members of the council are asked to identify any provisional views or relevant issues which they would wish to see taken into account and inform the development of the proposal."
