The Thainstone Centre, Inverurie will see something a little different this week as it holds a fundraising a Dance-A-Thon.

ANM Group staff wll be dancing for 8.6 hours in recognition of the some 8600 food parcels distributed by Aberdeenshire North Foodbank to those in food and hunger crisis in the north-east in 2022.

ANM surveyor Andrew J. Beedie said: "Our Dance-a-Thon will be taking place in Thainstone Exchange from 9.30am to 6.10pm on Tuesday, August 29 where we have a fantastic line-up of local DJ’s and activities to keep the moves rolling all day long.

"Mackies Ice Cream have kindly donated ice cream for dancers throughout the day.

"Our Gallery Restaurant will be open all day for lunches and light snacks whereby all Dance-a-Thon participants will receive one voucher per person for 10 per cent off their food."

ANM Group has also chosen to support Aberdeenshire North Food Bank in 2023 and aim to raise funds to purchase two prime cattle through the live auction ring and, with the generous support of Forbes Raeburn butchers in Huntly – have the beef processed and prepared ready in time for Christmas food hampers – that’s a whopping 2000 meals.

Andrew continued: "We invite businesses, individuals, you, your family, friends, colleagues and connections and any children to Thainstone next Tuesday for a dance and some great team activities as well as a chance to see ‘the mart’ in full action during our annual Rare Breed Sale and regular Sheep Sale."

Any donations welcome on the day or via our crowdfunding page.

The rare breed sale will commence at 1.30pm or immediately after the weekly sale of store and breeding sheep in Ring 3.

Entries Include: Five cattle; 35 pigs; 200 sheep and 25 goats.
