Run by father and son Alexander and Richard Fisher the business has been working for over 18 months to bring their quality product forward for sale.

As Richard explained: “Here our heard is predominantly brown Ayrshire cattle on this farm opposed to the black and white Holsteins and Friesians that folk identify with dairy farms.

“It’s a better quality of milk with higher butterfat content.

To bring forward delivery the farm installed new machinery to allow bottling to take place on site and as Richard explained: "For full fat our milk isn’t homogenised so you’ll get the traditional cream on top."

With plastics much on consumers mind these days both for recycling and the issue of micro-plastic in the food chain he added: ”The recycling issue of plastics is also a big driver for demand and people are seriously looking at glass as an alternative which is what we are going to do.

“The bottles are branded with colour caps that people will understand.

“The idea is that for the doorstep delivery there would be a deposit on the glass in the expectation that people will return it and the same in the shop while there is a higher price for buying it on non return.

“The bottle is actually quite a large part of the cost so we hope people will see the investment.
