All set for the 175th New Deer Show

New Deer Show returns to Craigieford Park, New Deer on Saturday and Sunday, July 15 and 16 offering a wide range of competitions and activities.

Saturday sees the horse, cattle, sheep, goats, guinea pigs, rabbits, young handlers classes, tractor fest, children's fancy dress, pets parade and races, baby show, pipe band, musical cars, hattie's hoopers and lots more.

The day kicks off with the judging of sports horses and ridden ponies, hunters and hacks,working hunter, veteran horses and ponies, in hand riding and hunter ponies, arabs, mountain and moorland, highland and shetlands before moving on to the Clydesdales.

Judging of all cattle, sheep, carcass, goat and cavy sections starts at 9.30am and continues throughout the morning.

The main ring events start with the arrival of the pipe band at around 1.20pm before the welcome for the chair of the Association.

Judging builds up to the champion of champions which will be announced and the ring is handed over to Hatties Hoopers.

From 3pm its the turn of the baby show in the marquee to take centre stage, followed by the Childrens pet parade, races and fancy dress competition.

There's still lots to come with Musical cars and the Modern tractor demonstration following this.

Sunday starts with the Pony Club Games at 11am and sees vintage and classic vehicles, demonstrations, the truck fest, companion dog show, pony club games, clay pigeon shooting, schools competition presentation, young farmers skills competition, sheep shearing, children's races, stock judging and of course the Red Hot Chilli Pipers at 2.30pm.

Admission: Adults £13, 12-16yrs and OAPS £6, Under 12yrs Free

Prior to the show weekend, on Friday 14 New Deer's Got Talent takes place at 6.30pm for 7pm (marquee) Adults £7, Children (under16) £3, Family (2 Adults & 2 Children) £15.

Saturday 15 - Marquee Dance, Music by DJ Jasper from 4pm - Marquee Dance from 8pm. Admission £10 payable at the door Strictly 18 years and over, ID will be required.
