The Grade A listed former Alford Auction Mart, now home to Alford Heritage Museum, will be offering short introductions to the history of the building and a full museum visit.

A wealth of social and agricultural history is contained within the collection which Historic Environment Scotland described it as “an exceptionally rare example of a largely intact livestock mart of timber construction in Scotland.”

The recently renovated and reopened Alford Valley Community Railway will have the station building open and trains running to Haughton Park. There will be displays within the Station Building, behind the scenes tour of the Engine Shed and an opportunity to have a ride on the train from the village centre to Haughton Country Park and back.

Train times: 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm - no booking required.

Both attractions will be open free of charge on both days between 10 am and 4pm and will be selling refreshments.
