THE bay at Findhorn will be bobbing with colourful skiffs this Saturday for Findhorn Coastal Rowing Club's third annual regatta.

The regatta has been brought forward this year – to June 8 rather than in September – in the hope that there will be a higher chance of favourable weather conditions.

Findhorn's regatta will run this weekend.

Local drumming group Talking Rhythm will launch proceedings. Races will run from 1.30pm, starting at the piers outside the Royal Yacht Club.

Around 10 clubs are lined up to compete, including teams from Burghead, Lossiemouth and Cullen. The races will include sprints and longer 1.5km rows.

The popular Regatta Café will return to the nearby James Milne Institute, serving soup, bacon rolls, sandwiches and cakes. The café is organised by club members along with Women’s Institute members.

Organisers promise that whatever the elements have in store, it’ll be another fabulous occasion and are encouraging families to come along.
