As Rotarian Ray Walker said: "Our Rotary had a great Primary School Quiz which saw four teams, Alehousewells, Kemnay, Kintore and Kemnay compete against each other.

"There were five reserves from the various schools who joined to make a reserve team.

"The audience were appreciative of the talents of the youngsters- in fact do you know the answer to some of the questions – who wrote The Old Man of Lochnagar, what is 24 per cent of 460, and name two of the things asked for by Old King Cole.

While the area heat is currently postponed, Kemnay Academy were also presented with the 2018-2019 District Interact Shield for their support for the project to eradicate polio.

Not only for their efforts to make money, but to also raise awareness in their communities and to promote vaccinations for this horrible disease.

They raised over £1000 in 2018-2019 and in September last year have raised nearly £700 by having a dress as you please day at the Academy.

As Ray said: "With pupils like this the world is in safe hands!."
