Aberdeenshire waste collection - a reminder of holiday changes

A reminder that festive recycling and refuse collections in Aberdeenshire are as follows -

Collections due on Monday, December 25 will be made on Friday 29.

Collections due on Tuessaday 26 will be made on Saturday 30.

Collections due on Monday, January 1 will be made on Friday 5.

Collections due on Tuesday 2 will be made on Saturday 6.

It’s important to keep in mind how to reduce, reuse, and recycle and t hat includes making good use of your green caddy for all food waste. Remember, peelings and bones can go into food waste too.

Inevitably people will be inconvenienced if the winter temperatures drop or there are other issues such as high winds.

If at any point your bin is not emptied over the festive period, the council will empty your bin along with any excess waste you gathered during the next scheduled collection for that bin.

For households only, if you find yourself accumulating additional recycling and waste items, recycling centres are available across the festive period-

Closed from 3pm on Sunday 24. Closed all day on 25 and 26 December.

Closed from 3pm on Sun 3. Closed all day on 1 and 2 January.
