A spokesperson said; “Aberdeenshire Trading Standards Officers have installed a Video Doorbell at a vulnerable residents home in the Formartine area. The home had been subjected to repeated visits by rogue doorstep tradesmen. It is hoped that the presence of this recording technology and accompanying signage will deter these scammers from even attempting to knock on the door.

The Service secured national funding for the supply of video doorbells and this forms part of an Aberdeenshire prevention strategy, aimed at protecting vulnerable residents and reducing incidents of doorstep crime and rogue trading.
