Aberdeenshire East MSP Gillian Martin has encouraged people to contribute to Aberdeenshire Council’s public engagement on the region’s Local Transport Strategy (LTS) for 2023.
The local authority has suggested that this strategy may possibly be its “most ambitious, bold and far reaching” one to date, as it considers a rapidly developing market in transport technology and how to fortify itself as a provider of sustainable travel.
The LTS survey calls on residents to consider a range of themes from road network and safety, to freight movements and active travel, all covered by corresponding papers.
Open until Friday, June 23, the survey and theme papers can be accessed at engage.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/localtransportstrategy2023
Ms Martin said: “My constituents in Aberdeenshire East often contact me regarding transport related issues, so I would like to highlight this public engagement process as an excellent opportunity to raise those issues.
"I am urging residents across Aberdeenshire to engage with the council’s LTS survey and seize the chance to feed input into Aberdeenshire Council’s development of the Local Transport Strategy.
“Whether it’s to do with road safety, public transport options, or even the increase in e-bike usage, it’s important that Aberdeenshire Council hear directly from the residents who live, work, and travel in the region everyday – please consider responding to the survey before its close on June 23.”
