A number of Aberdeenshire food outlets have been nominated in The Scottish Takeaway Awards.
In the Curry Takeaway of the Year category Real Tandoori in Banff has been named as a finalist.
Nominees in the Fish and Chips Takeaway of the Year section are Dolphin Fish and Chips in Macduff, The Galley and Rockfish Café and Chip Shop, which are both in Whitehills.
Pitta’s Takeaway in Turriff is a finalist in the Pizza Takeaway of the Year award and in the Kebab Takeaway of the Year category Elim’s Kebab Shop in Huntly has been nominated.
The black-tie event will take place on Monday, July 11, at The Marriott Hotel in Glasgow. Top names from the industry will gather to celebrate those who shone brightly in recent years.
These awards will recognise those who are the real masters in their category; from the Best Italian and Oriental Takeaway to the Best Dessert or Breakfast Takeaway of the Year.
The event heartily puts the spotlight on the establishments where there is always something for the whole family to enjoy and whose gastronomic delights grace the dining tables, living rooms and the laps of Scottish homes.
A spokesperson for The Scottish Takeaway Awards 2022 said: “Takeaways have been around for a long time and are the very backbone of the local community and economy.
“The awards aim to provide a platform to those who have dedicated their career in providing us with delicious dishes across multiple cuisines in a timely manner and affordable prices.
“The competition is tough as there are some excellent professionals in the industry but each finalist has their own success story to tell. We can’t wait to welcome our guests and celebrate the winners with them.”
