The group, which designs, creates and delivers engineering solutions to global industrial markets said that the new appointments to the group will strengthen its energy transition credentials and growth strategy.

The trio of new appointments comes as Pryme Group and its companies unveil a new brand identity to better represent the unified, integrated organisation it has become and to reflect the transitional, technical and cohesive value proposition of the group as a whole.

Pryme Group has broad capabilities supplying engineering products, services and solutions to diverse markets from oil and gas to nuclear to defence and marine to offshore wind and renewables. The group comprises five businesses with a total of 260 staff operating over 12 sites across the UK. Each business operates under their own brand name as part of the Pryme Group.

David Hodkinson has joined the Ellon based company as Chief Commercial Officer. He will work with Pryme's executive team and company leadership to drive the development and delivery of a group-wide commercial strategy, targeting growth in sustainable high value sectors.

The two further appointments have been made within Pryme Group company, Caley Ocean Systems. Simon Wain has been promoted to Managing Director, to build on the success of recent years and continue growing the business.

Simon joined Caley in 2020 as Project Director, during which time he managed one of Caley’s largest projects in the offshore wind sector, delivering innovative PileProp systems for Ailes Marines for the Saint-Brieuc Offshore Wind Farm off the coast of Brittany, France.

Chartered engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Barbara McIntyre, has also joined Caley Ocean Systems as Operations and Engineering Director. Barbara comes to Caley with 20 years of leadership and design engineering experience across a range of sectors including transport, defence and energy.

Kerrie Murray, CEO at Pryme Group, said: “We have continually evolved over the past decade, diversifying into new markets such as offshore wind and nuclear infrastructure while continuing to support and grow our long standing customer base in the oil and gas, defence and industrial markets.

"As the world faces an energy trilemma – balancing security of energy supply with decarbonisation targets and economic pressures – we’re investing in our people to strengthen our presence in these key markets with our innovative engineering solutions, contributing to our net zero future.

“Across Pryme Group, we are proud to offer industry leading expertise and broad skillsets throughout our teams. We strive to deliver supply chain excellence for our global customers, and these key appointments will help strengthen this commitment.

"David, Simon and Barbara are all incredibly talented and driven individuals, and I look forward to working with them to grow the business.”
