For 2022 in Ward 14: Huntly, Strathbogie and Howe of Alford (Four elected) with an electorate of 12,145, one of the prinicpal factors that comes into play is the sheer geography of the ward and the very different communities that its serves.

With SNP Group leader Gwyneth Petrie standing again along with Robbie Withey the other two seats held by Liberal Democrat John Latham and Conservative Moira Ingleby are up for grabs, which shows in the Tories confidence in standing two candidates against the SNP's singular nomination this time around.

The candidates are -

Bryan Begg, Scottish Labour

Jeff Goodhall, Scottish Liberal Democrats

Lauren Knight, Scottish Conservative and Unionist

Rosie Leagas, Independent

Gwyneth Petire, SNP

Stuart Whitby, Scottish Libertarian Party

Robbie Withey, Scottish Conservative and Unionist
