Aberdeenshire Council reopens the fourth of six damaged north-east bridges

Aberdeenshire Council has completed works to replace a fourth bridge out of a total of six which were destroyed by flooding back in 2019.

A spokesperson said: "We’re pleased to announce that the Mill of Balmaud bridge on the U12S road near Strocherie has re-opened to traffic.

"It’s the fourth of six bridges to be replaced in the King Edward area after they were destroyed by severe flooding three years ago.

"North Litterty bridge re-opened last month following earlier completion of Bruntyards carrying the C51L and Bridge of Fortrie in November last year.

"Work to replace Millcroft bridge on the U12S at Plaidy is ongoing.

"We would like to thank all residents and businesses impacted by the closures for their patience and understanding as we do everything we can to reconnect this rural community."
