Aberdeenshire and Moray modellers showcase their skills in Inverurie
A Multitude of models, all shapes, sizes and subjects filled the gallery at Garioch Heritage centre in Inverurie over the weekend.writes Griselda McGregor.
Garioch Model Show attracted model-makers and collectors from Aberdeenshire and Morayshire showing off over 20 of their exhibits
Alan Jones from Elgin Aeromodellers had set up several of his most prized models, engines used in trawlers and in cotton mills. The names of other artefacts had a certain attraction - the swivelling jib crane, the vertical internal combustion engine and knife grinder.
Alford man Nigel Walton is particularly proud of the largest of his models, the Allchine traction engine which took him 17 years to complete.
Kinloss and Forres model club showed a variety of members work. Given the proximity to Kinloss model aircraft and helicopters featured prominently from armoured fighting vehicles to fantasy figurines. Modellers are of all abilities and are willing to share their experience and help others This group of like-minded modellers meet at the Findhorn village centre and membership ranges from 8 to 80 year-olds and comes from all over the Moray and Highland area. The club is also a branch of the International Plastic Modellers society (IPMS).
