Aberdeen Science Centre retains five-star VisitScotland ranking

Aberdeen Science Centre has retained its sought-after ranking as a five-star visitor attraction for the second time in a row.
The prestigious Quality Assurance (QA) status is awarded by VisitScotland, the national tourism organisation, and comes after a detailed inspection of the centre.
The centre’s on-site café, which is run by Grub Fresh Food, has also been awarded VisitScotland’s Taste Our Best accreditation, which celebrates businesses which serve quality food and drink using fresh and seasonal local produce.
Drawing more than 50,000 visitors a year, Aberdeen Science Centre is one of only two attractions in the city to hold the five-star award.
The QA scheme is a benchmark for exceptional quality within the tourism industry and operates across accommodation, visitor attractions and food sectors.

“More than ever, in a cost of living crisis, we know visitors have a choice and we are proud to hold the five-star status which gives assurance of high quality as well as a fun and inspiring place to visit time and time again.
“We are proud that Aberdeen Science Centre, our café Grub and the contribution we make to the north-east have continued to be acknowledged by VisitScotland for a second time.
"These awards rightly recognise the dedication of our staff to make sure each trip to the centre is memorable for all visitors.”
The latest award comes after Aberdeen Science Centre was awarded the TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice award for a third time.
This accolade recognises places that earn consistently positive reviews from visitors, who rate services, quality and customer satisfaction.
Aberdeen Science Centre has become a highly popular destination for people of all ages since reopening the doors of the Tramsheds on Constitution Street in November 2020, after a major project to create an aspirational science centre which reflects the STEM priorities for both industry and education.
Visitors can explore 60 interactive exhibits across six dedicated zones – Energy, Space, Life Sciences, Make It, and Test It as well as a special area for children under six.
