Aberdeen is set to be the venue for Scotland's only horror convention this hallowe'en.

Aberdeen Horror Con, organised by Northern Frights, will take place in Aberdeen Altens Hotel on October 30 to raise money for Chest, Heart And Stroke Scotland.

The day will be split into two sessions.

The first session will run from 10.30am until 1.30pm and is suitable for families, featuring a scavenger hunt with a trick or treat prize and family-friendly entertainment.

There will be a cosplay competition for best children's costume and best family or group costume.

It should be noted that the family friendly session is still a horror event and costumes, props and displays will reflect this.

Then from 2pm until 5pm the event will be strictly over 18s only, with scares galore.

There will be cosplay competitions for best costume and best group costume in the afternoon session.

As well as a variety of trader stalls there will be an exhibitor room featuring the Ghostbusters of Aberdeen, Clear Focus Movies, SFX make up artists, cosplay specialists, props and more.

Tickets are on sale now priced at £8 for adults and £2 for children, with all profits from the day going towards Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland which helps the one in five people in Scotland who are living with chest, heart and stroke conditions - including Long Covid - to live their lives to the full.
