A97 road to close for resurfacing work





Road resurfacing will close the A97 near Gartly from Oldnoth to Newnoth for five days from Monday, July 8.

Access will be provided for vehicles requiring access to immediate properties but this may be subject to delay until the road is cleared of construction plant to allow safe passage through the works.

An Aberdeenshire Council spokesman said: “Due to the requirement that a detour must divert to roads that are the same class as the one that is closed, the formal route is via the A97 (Huntly), B9002 (Huntly), B9002 (Insch), B992 (Insch), B992 (Alford), A944 (Alford), Aberdeen Road, Main Street, Donside Road, A944 (Alford), A97 (Rhynie).”
