An Aberdeenshire Council roads spokesman said: “This is a daytime closure running from 9.30am to 3.30pm and access will be provided for vehicles requiring access to immediate properties.

“Due to the requirement that a diversion must divert to roads that are the same class as the one that is closed, the formal detour is via the A97 to Banff to A98 to Portsoy to A95 to B9025 towards Aberchirder to A97 at Blacklaw.

“We appreciate that working on roads can cause some inconvenience to users, but we would ask that you bear with us as we carry out these essential repairs which will deliver long-term benefits across our 3500-mile roads network.”
