Amey is undertaking road surface improvements to 1.2 miles of the A90 near the village of Lonmay in Aberdeenshire.

The work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will take place under an overnight road closure between Sunday, February 25 and Saturday, March 9.

The project will deliver two road surface improvement schemes back-to-back in order to minimise disruption for residents, businesses and the travelling public.

The first scheme will involve resurfacing of approximately 620 metres of the A90 carriageway between south of the B9033 junction and Logie Lodges.

The second scheme will involve resurfacing of 1300 metres of the A90 between the Ban-Car hotel and north of the B9033 junction.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken using an overnight road closure between 7pm and 6.30am each night.

The diversion will see southbound traffic follow the A952 south to Mintlaw and take the first exit at The Square onto the A950, continuing to rejoin the A90 at Peterhead.

Northbound traffic will leave the A90 at Howe o’Buchan Roundabout, taking the first exit to follow the A950 to Mintlaw. They can then take the third exit at The Square onto the A952 to head north to rejoin the A90 at Cortes.

No works will take place overnight on Friday March 1 and Saturday 2.
