9 events to entertain you in Aberdeenshire this weekend

It's a busy weekend again in Aberdeenshire with everything from a Still Game fundraiser to a 10k beach run.

INVERURIE - Looking to do some work around the house then head to Thainstone on Saturday, March 23 from 10am-4pm for the Scottish Self-Build and Renovation show. Free entry with tickets here.

POTTERTON - 1st Balmedie Cubs would like to invite you to their Soup and Pudding Fundraiser on Saturday 23 at Potterton Community Centre from 1130-1.30pm. All proceeds will go towards 1st Balmedie Cubs Summer Camp 2024 to Fordel Firs.

INVERURIE - Still Game fans should head along to costume party in your finest Craiglang Couture (optional, but more fun to dress up!) and meet special guest Gavin Mitchell aka Boabby the barman on Saturday 23 at Inverurie Bowling Club in aid of Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland

Entry by ticket only.

TURRIFF - Down Syndrome Scotland will host a Coffee Morning at Turriff Legion on Saturday 23 from 10am till noon. Adults £3 Children £1.50 with raffles, tombola and homebakes.

NEWBURGH - Saturday 23 sees the ninth ‘Newburgh Beach Bash 10K’ take place under license from Scottish Athletics at 11am. The run will follow a route over the Foveran Burn bridge, turning onto the pavement by the former butcher’s shop and head northwards from the centre of the village to the Waterside car park. The course then uses part of the Forvie National Nature Reserve before heading back to the start/finish line in Newburgh.

KEMNAY - Cycling Without Age Scotland Kemnay are coming to Kemnay with the new trishaw. The Grand Launch will take place at Essentials, Station Road Kemnay from 10.45am-2pm showcasing the new community bike.

INVERURIE - Inverurie Community Partnership are hosting a craft declutter at No3 High Street 11am - 2.30pm on Saturday 23. Come along and have cuppa and chat with like minded people. Lots of different types of material suitable for upholstery to fat quarters, thread tapestry wool,embroidery threads and more.

INSCH - Insch Ceilidh Club meets on Sunday 24 at the Church Hall 2pm-3.30pm. £5 per family group.

DAVIOT - Spring is here and Inverurie Orchestra is playing two bouncy vigorous spring like pieces in a short matinée concert on Sunday 24 at 3pm at Daviot Village Hall. Overture in C Major by Fanny Mendelssohn and Beethoven’s Seventh Symphony
