There's a host of fun family events taking place this weekend in Aberdeenshire, including a comic-convention and special concert performance.

ADEN PARK - Music at Aden - Medley of song & spoken word on Saturday, August 5 from 2 - 4 pm.

A fascinating programme of song and spoken word is coming to Aden Park Theatre, Mintlaw. Harmonic Tide, an acoustic duo from Peterhead and poets Ian McKenzie and Joe Walsh will entertain during the first of the concert, with jazz duo, Bailey & Black, spinning their magic after the interval. Tickets £10 from Aden Gift Shop or cash at the door.

FRASERBURGH - Sunday 6 11am - 4pm BrochCon - Cheers Cafe, Bar & Tavern, 10 Broad Street. Family fun filled day with cosplayers, wrestlers, traders, gaming zone and much more. Plenty of photo opportunities to be had. Come dressed as your favourite character for the cosplay fun. Plenty of food and drink to be had. Group of four family/friend tickets available. 15 and under to be accompanied by an adult, Under 6 Free but ticket required. All monies raised will go to local charities. BANFF - Dooking For Doocot, Saturday 5, Banff Links at 2pm. The staff at Doocot View are braving the sea again this year to raise more funds for thr Tenant amenities Fund. GAMRIE - Deveronvale Community Football Club is attending Harbucks Coffee - Pop Up Cafe in aid of Deveronvale Community FC at Gamrie Harbour on Saturday 5, 12pm -5pm. So pop down for your fly and support the club whilst enjoying the beautiful setting of Gamrie Harbour. They are also selling lucky squares for a fantastic 2023 Signed Aberdeen FC home top.

NEW DEER - New Deer Heritage Group opening of the Heritage Museum takes place at the Public Hall on Saturday 5 10am until 2pm. Join at the beginning of the journey to have a wee museum to showcase the history of New Deer.

INVERURIE - Inverurie Town Hall - Saturday 5, SCO Rhythms of Summer tour with Andrei Feher, Conductor and André Cebrián, Flute

The young Romanian conductor Andrei Feher takes the SCO on a summertime sojourn in Scotland’s north-east. Programme: HAYDN Symphony No 83 ‘The Hen’; MARQUEZ Flute Concerto ‘Son’ (UK Premiere); POULENC Sinfonietta. Tickets are available here.

ELLON - Pawpalz dog show at Ellon Castle Gardens, Sunday 6, 11am -4pm featuring AGILITY ANDDISPLAYTEAMS, Findhorn Flyball Club

Stalls include - Therapets, Guide Dogs, Ellon Men's Shed, Canicross Scotland, Paws on Plastic, Mrs Murrays Home for Stray dogs and cats, New Arc, Letemaff Dog Park and The British Heart Foundation.
