It's Bonfire weekend and across the north-east there's plenty going on to keep you entertained.
ELLON - Film Night returns on Saturday, November 4, 7pm at the Victoria Hall - The Great Escaper (12A) stars Michael Cane and Glenda Jackson. Bernard Jordan escapes from his care home to attend the 70th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings in France. Tickets from https://www.victoriahallellon.co.uk/cinema.
NEW DEER - Big Dig Day on Sunday 5, 10am till noon. Come along and help with the community bulb planting at Johnstone Cottages. Refreshments provided, please wear suitable clothing and bring a spade if you have one.
TURRIFF - Turrff Bowling Club Ceilidh night takes place on Saturday 4 from 7.30pm. Free entry, open to all and with a bar and raffle.
KEMNAY - Fireworks take place on Sunday 5 at Bogbeth Park, Kemnay from 6pm. BBQ/home bakes / sweeties / drinks / sparklers and glow toys. 7.15pm Fireworks will start (15mins duration)
This is a free event but please give generously to the bucket collectors on the evening.
DAVIOT - Daviot Dash 5K and 2K take place on Sunday 5. 5k start at 11am, 2k 10.20 am. Registration from 9.30am 2k - £5 / 5k - £10 2k entries age 5-10 5k entries 11+ juniors and adults more information and entry at www.entrycentral.comchrissmithdaviotdashkidsfunrun.
CHAPEL OF GARIOCH - Soup and Sandwich in aid of FROM Scotland Famine Relief for Orphans in Malawi (SCIO) at Chapel of Garioch Village Hall, Saturday 4, 11.30am - 2.30pm.
Crafts raffle home bakes tombola, Christmas Cards, admission £7.50.
NEW DEER - Bonfire and fireworks display, Sunday, November 5 organised by New Deer Community Association at Craigieford Park (showfield). The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm entry is free, but donations are invited. ample parking in showfield. There will be a tuck shop with juice and crisps, and home-made soup and hotdogs will also be available - all in exchange for a cash donation!
HADDO HOUSE - Haddo House Christmas Craft Fair/Crafters at the Pheasantry - Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 10am-3pm. Great Christmas shopping in a festive setting - Delicious food and drink including non alcoholic mulled wine, Raffle with a variety of wonderful prizes available to win. A raffle prize has been kindly donated by each stall holder. Entry is £3 adult & £2 12-18 year olds (under 12s go free). Please note parking charges will also apply.
The rescheduled METHLICK firework display will take place on Saturday, November 11.
