8 entertaining events being held in Aberdeenshire this weekend

The summer break is nearing its end but there are still plenty of events happening in Aberdeenshire this weekend.

TURRIFF - Monquhitter and New Byth Parish Church coffee morning will be held in the Royal British Legion on Saturday, August 12, from 10am to midday. There will be raffles and lucky squares. Entry is £3 for adults and £1.50 for children.

MINTLAW - The Mintlaw Big Weekender will be held at Aden Park. Saturday, August 12, will feature a fun day, dance groups and dog show. Sunday, August 13, will feature a pipe band championships. For full details visit the event's Facebook page.

OLDMELDRUM - Oldmeldrum Royal British Legion end of summer barbecue will be held on Saturday, August 12, from midday to 3pm. Over 3s - £5, under 3s - £2.50.

TURRIFF - The Turriff and District Vintage and Classic Club's Annual Road Run will be held on Sunday, August 13. It will leave Turriff grain store at 10am prompt. There will be teas and butteries served before drivers leave from 9am. The stop for lunch will be at 12.30pm approximately. Vehicles will then return to Turriff grain store for a cup of tea. LYNE OF SKENE - The Scottish Tractor Pullers Club will be at BA Country Stores. Scotland's largest tractor pulling event will be held at the purpose built track at BA Stores on August 12 and 13. This year it is hosting eight British Championship classes over the two days, including the Saturday night floodlit event, with classes ranging from 500hp all the way up to 6000hp. The Saturday night event will start from 5pm, with gates opening at 3pm. On Sunday it will start from 12pm, with gates opening at 10.30am. There will be a licensed bar, DJ, catering and onsite camping available. The gate prices on the day are adults - £15, OAP and 12 to 16 year olds - £10 and weekend ticket - £25.

TARVES - Five-a-side football tournament and family fun day. It kicks-off at midday on Sunday, August 13 at the Tarves FC pitch, Tree Road. There will be football, barbecue, bouncy castle, shoot the target and face painting in aid of Hamish Dear's Warm Hugs charity.

BANFF - Classic Car Experience at St Mary's Car Park on Saturday, August 12, from 11am to 3pm. Organised by Banff Rotary Club there will be a chance to travel in a variety of vehicles for a minimum charitable donation of £5.

GARDENSTOWN - The Gamrie Creatives event will be held in the coastal village from Friday, August 11 until Sunday, August 13. More than 25 crafters, artists and makers will open their doors to show and sell their creations. There will be an opportunity to meander through all the little seatown lanes, steps and alleyways to find all the venues. Maps are available on entry to the village at the Spar and at the bottom of the village at Eli's Café near the New Ground Car Park.
