With the second week of the school holidays now approaching, why not get out and partcipate in one of the many events taking place in the north-east.

TURRIFF - Men's Shed Turriff Coffee Morning takes place on Saturday, Octoberc21 from 10am at Turriff Royal British Legion, Buy goods made in your local shed raffles, cake table and Meet the Shedders. Adults £3 Children £1.50.

HUNTLY - Alexander Scott's Eventide Home fundraiser coffee and buttery morning takes place on Saturday 21 at the Stewart's Hall, Huntly from 9.45am-11.45 am. Adults £3 Children £1 bottle/raffle/baking stalls and donations to stalls appreciated, please hand into the hall on the day.

INVERURIE - Inverurie Brew Festruns at Inverurie Town Hall on Saturday 21 from 4pm - 10pm. They will be pouring top beers, cider, spirits and cocktails. Live music all day and delicious street food too!

OLDMELDRUM- Royal British Legion Scotland - Oldmeldrum Branch Saturday Night Dancing with the Scott Band Duo, Saturday 2, 8.45pm start, £8 entry members and guests welcome.

FRASERBURGH- Fraserburgh, The Old Parish Church Centre Craft Fair runs on Saturday 21m 10am -2pm with free entry. Come have a look and help support local businesses

TULLYNESSLE - Tullynessle Hall, Saturday 21 at 2.30pm Gather round and hear stories of Odin, the King of the Gods; Thor and his mighty hammer; and Loki, the shape changer, adventurer and mischief maker. In this engaging rod puppet production, the puppeteer battles frost giants, dodges magical beasts and brings the gods of old to life.

BENNACHIE CENTRE - The Bennachie Visitor Centre, Saturday 21, 10am-4pm Everyone is welcome at the autumn/early Christmas Craft Fayre supporting local artists and the Bennachie Centre Trust (SCIO).

From jewellery to books, pottery to paintings there'll be lots of fabulous Christmas gifts and beautiful items for yourself and your home. Entry is free. Refreshments available

TURRIFF - Rotary Club of Turriff and District host Walk a Mile to end Polio at the Haughs on Sunday 22 from 10am to 1pm. All donations to the Rotary End Polio Now campaign.

And nexy week -

MAUD- Maud and Savoch Church Warm and Welcome Soup and Sweet runs from 11.30am till 1.30pm on Monday 23. Come along to the Church Hall for a warm welcome, cup of tea, chat with friends and a warming soup and sweet lunch. There is no charge for teas and lunch but folk can make a small donation if desired.
