THE Fife Keith Picnic is set to return in June after a two-year absence.
The 75th running of the picnic – which was originally scheduled for 2020 before the coronavirus pandemic hit – is set to take place at Fife Park between 1pm and 4.30pm on Saturday, June 18.
The Strathisla Pipe Band will be playing, with plenty for children and adults entertained on the day. There will be a bouncy castle, face painting, balloon making and a Thomas The Tank Engine train ride.
Sarah McWilliam, the Fife Keith Picnic's chairperson, said: "This would have been the 77th Picnic but the 75th was cancelled due to the pandemic and we didn't get it up and running last year.
"The 2019 event was really good, we had about 350 people between adults, kids and OAPs so we are hoping it's just as good this time.
"Everything is booked, schedule and we have decided to go ahead with it this year. With restrictions easing, we thought it was time to get it back up and running.
"The event needs to keep going. As it's the 75th running, we are going to give everyone a memorabilia pen as a wee gesture."
Fife Keith Picnic committee members are set to go door-to-door in the local area to sell tickets for the event.
However, the committee's numbers are dwindling and they are looking for more local help.
Sarah added: "It's not great at the minute. We are always welcoming new committee members as the numbers are dwindling.
"We have about eight at the moment and hoping to get that up to about 15 or 16. Everybody is welcome to come along and help out."
