To mark 70 years since the hall was opened, a coffee morning and get together was held for all the old and new committee members over the years.

The hall was full with friends and family members for the special day and many commented on the recent works at the facility which has seen refitting of energy efficient lighting and wall heaters.

Members of hall committee have worked tirelessly over the last few years to secure funding to carry out work which has included the installation of underfloor insulation, a new air source heating system and thermal curtains to help with efforts to reduce running costs and offer a 'greener' facility.

Joining the gathering on the day was 101 year old Nan Duncan from Ellon who is the only surviving member of the original committee group when it was first set up in 1953 and who is still on the board.
