2nd Turriff Company Boys’ Brigade are celebrating their 70th anniversary this month.

It was a busy day for the group on Saturday when they held a coffee morning and memorabilia exhibition in the morning, then relaxed with a party and sleepover in the evening.

The group were overwhelmed with the support they received at their coffee morning, which took place in St Andrew’s Church Hall, with people queueing for a seat shortly after opening.

Across in the Session Room, visitors could peruse photos, news clippings, awards and other artefacts spanning the group’s 70 year history.

The event raised almost £1000 towards the group’s activities.

The boys’ hard work was rewarded in the evening when they gathered for games, crafts and a pizza dinner, finished of course with some birthday cake.

For the older sections the fun continued with a sleepover.

As part of their celebrations members teamed up with Turriff In Bloom to plant a special display of their logo in the flower bed outside Turriff Swimming Pool on Queen’s Road.
