It's a busy Turriff Show weekend and across the north-east an eclectic mix of events are taking place to keep you busy.

CABRACH - The 2023 Cabrach Picnic and Games take place on Sunday, July 30.

Bring the family along to the ‘have a go’ games with Highland Games Association, dancing with Alison Gordon School of Dancing and Huntly & District Pipe Band. Free refreshments available with a small charge for a hog roast.

It all starts at 11am, bring your picnic rugs, chairs and picnic for a fun day with the Cabrach community at the Acorn Centre, Lower Cabrach.

NEWBURGH - Sunday 30, 11am - 1pm, Drop by on your walk at Newburgh Beach and join Forvie staff near the mouth of the river to watch and learn more about some of Forvie’s most well-known wildlife, our Grey Seals.

HUNTLY - Saturday 29, 11am-3pm, Huntly Fire Station Open Day takes place so come along for a family day out with lots of attractions to see. North East Scottish Fire Heritage Trust will be attending with one of their classic fire appliances, also including, raffle, bottle stall, bouncy castle, water zorbs, cake and candy stall plus many more.

CLATT - Clatt annual companion dog show takes place at the Village hall and grounds on Saturday, 29. Refreshments, Sandwiches/soup available in the Clatt Tea Room. Entries from 9.45am, Judging starts at 10.30 am.

ELLON - Victoria Hall cinema Saturday 29; Ruby Gillman Teenage|Kraken 2pm followed by Indiana Jones: Dial of Destiny at 7pm. Tickets from www.victoriahallellon.co.uk/cinema.

HUNTLY - Gordon Rural Action Family Fun Day, Saturday 29 10am-1pm, Stewarts Hall, Huntly. Free entry - School Uniform swap; Soft Play; bouncy castle; Fun runs; Face painting; Glitter Tattoos; Bottle stall; Raffles and much more.

LONGSIDE - A coffee morning will be held at the Buchan Aero Club, Longside Airfield on Saturday, 29 from 10am-2pm by Peterhead branch RAFA. All members, family and friends are invited to attend this social get-together, giving everyone a chance for a long- overdue catch-up over a cup of tea/coffee and a fine piece.

INVERURIE - It's Bring Your Own Cup Day on Saturday, July 29 at McLeish in Inverurie. From 10am to 7pm, bring your own cup, fishbowl, bucket, or something even wackier and fill it up for only £2.49!
