There are plenty events going on in the coming days in the north-east to entertain and inform.

Insch - On Sunday, April 16 from 10 am to 4pm Strathorn Farm Stables is hosting an open day which is a family day with heavy horses.

This promises to be a wonderful occasion where there will be loads to do and see, including carriage displays, a bouncy castle and many activities throughout the six hours of opening including demonstrations, showing rides and the Strathorn Clydesdale Celebration Drill Ride.

There will also be in the yard that day a demonstration of Preparation of Clydesdales for showing including washing and plating.

This promises to be a wonderful occasion and in addition to everything funds are being raised to assist the Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance..

Inverurie - Inverurie Parent and Toddler Group are hosting an Easter Fair at Inverurie Town Hall on Saturday, April 16 from 10am - 2pm.

Local craft and small business holders with a raffle a bottle stall - £2 entry and under 12s free.

Longside - Buchan Heritage Society welcome the Ythan Fiddlers to Longside Parish Church Hall on Wednesday, April 19 at 7.30pm - £5 with teas and a raffle.

Monymusk - Former Forestry Commission manager Norman Davidson will give a talk on Wednesday, April 19 at Monymusk Hall at 7.30pm looking back over 100 years of the Forestry Commission.

This is a free event organised by the Bailies of Bennachie Wildlife Group and all are invited.

Ellon - British Heat Foundation's Spring Fair takes place at the Victoria Hall on Saturday, April 15 from 11am till 2pm featuring local crafts, raffles and bric-a-brac stalls.

Turriff - St Andrew's Church hosts a coffee morning at the Church Hall on Saturday, April 15 from 10am - noon, entry £3 adults, £1 children.

Newburgh - Newburgh Village Hall welcomes welcomes Laura Dunkley from East Grampian Coastal Partnership at 7pm for a talk entitled Beach Cleaning 101 about how to get involved in beach cleans.
