6 exciting events to keep you entertained this weekend in Aberdeenshire

From comedy to a car boot sale, there's something for everyone going on in the north-east this weekend.

ELLON - The Victoria Hall in Ellon welcomes Justin Moorhouse for a stand-up show at 8.30pm and Saturday, January 13.

JUSTIN MOORHOUSE

Justin is an English stand-up comedian and radio DJ from Manchester and is best known for his appearances in Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights and Looking for Eric. Moorhouse was a salesman for many years before contacting a comedy club and performing a stand-up comedy routine, aged 29. In 2002 he competed in a local comedy competition, winning the final held at the Comedy Store Manchester. Soon afterwards, he performed in a comedy tour, before getting the role of Young Kenny in Phoenix Nights. He has written and appeared in his own BBC Radio 4 sitcom Everyone Quite Likes Justin. He is also a semi-regular guest on 7 Day Sunday and Fighting Talk, both broadcast on 5 Live.

NEWBURGH - Sunday 14 sees the NDRC 10K which starts from Newburgh Village hall at 11am. The 10k@11 is open to absolutely everyone – so please invite as many people as you wish and comprises a 10k beach bash route and 5k (ish) duck bench route option. Coffee and cakes after these social runs in the hall. Donations welcome and will be donated to a specific foodbank or charity. This is an unofficial social event meaning the responsibility for safety lies entirely with you. There are no marshals, and the route will be unmarked.

WESTHILL - Join the Garioch Ranger on Saturday 13 at 10.30am at Westhill Library for a talk "An Exploration through the Garioch" through the work of the Ranger Service from Bennachie to the River Don. To Book a place visit here.

LUMSDEN - Quiz and Chips takes place at Lumsden Hall, on Saturday 13. Teams of four at £2.50 per person. Doors open at 6pm for 7.30pm start.

WHITEHILLS - Deveron Harriers are having a 5k fun run in Whitehills, starting and finishing at the blackpots. Starts at 9.30am on Saturday13, open to all abilities, dogs must be kept on leads, all welcome, free to enter, just come along and enjoy yourself.

DUNECHT - B.A Country Stores - Grand Re-Opening day. Aberdeenshire Car Boot will be open every Saturday 9.30am - 1.30pm at B A Country Stores, Broomhill Farm, Dunecht. No booking is required for sellers, just turn up any time after 8.30am and you'll be allocated a space. Set up in peace until the first buyers arrive at 9.30am. As always, bring as many tables/clothes rails as you'd like, there's no restriction on space here. All Vehicles - £12 per space. Buyers are welcome from 9.30am and entry is free.

ONLINE - Police Scotland North East are hosting an online Rural Issues event. This is your opportunity to ask a panel of experts from The North East Partnership Against Rural Crime (NEPARC) any questions you might have about rural issues. Representatives will be live on Facebook from Police Scotland, Forestry Land Scotland, Scottish Land and Estates, National Farmers Union (Scotland), Neighbourhood Watch Scotland and Aberdeenshire Council at 7pm.
